We had a mad session in the estuary today. Guy and I were out for a couple of hours and a mysterious third sailor was out for a while too!!! ;)

The winds were mad, a little gusty in behind the dunes, but once out of their shelter it was honking and just got stronger and stronger whilst we were out. We were all on small kit and all overpowered at some stage. There was some chop out in the middle of the estuary allowing for some little jumps, but as soon as you were airbourne you were blown off downwind. In the end we sailed upwind as far as possible on the way out, so that we could head up towards the shoreline and then bear away on a ridiculous speed run next to the beach. The speed runs were scarey, I usually unhooked as I felt safer that way, and once or twice just bailed out as I was expecting a nasty wipeout. Apparently Guy was unhooking too!!

All in all a pretty good sail in manic conditions.
